Smallmouth bass and trophy pike on the fly. High-intensity, visual fishing for those who want something raw and powerful.
When summer water temps push trout into their cold-water refuges, the Housatonic's predator fishing comes alive. Aggressive smallmouth bass, northern pike, and the occasional surprise make for some of the most exciting fly fishing of the year.
Predator hunts are visual, explosive, and completely different from spring trout fishing. Topwater poppers getting crushed, streamers getting chased down, and hard-fighting fish that don't give up easily.
We'll fish from the drift boat, covering miles of predator water and targeting structure — rock piles, weed beds, fallen timber, and current seams where bass and pike ambush prey. Big flies, heavy rods, and the kind of takes that make you flinch.
Predator hunts run from late June through September, with peak action in July and August when water temps are warmest.
Full-day predator hunts available June through September.
